So its like this, I was having a discussion with my daughter about batman and the flaws in his costume- for starters he has this blingy gold belt that stands out a mile if youre trying to hide in the shadows, and this big patch of white skin that not only stands out a mile but is a nice vulnerable spot in his otherwise armoured costume.. so bearing in mind what he's all about and what he's trying to achieve I tweaked him a bit.
In batman begins it is stated that he is trying to become fear, become more than just a man. So I set out to make him more supernatural and fearful in visage, whilst at the same time giving him practicality. It took very little in the way of changes to achieve this.
- gone is the bling
- The changes to his mask are more than just cosmetic, the now hidden face makes him look less human and also armours the vulnerable spot, whilst working as a voice changer to help him keep his secret identity better and making him sound more evil. It also works as a gas mask for good measure.
- Around the eyes the scowl has been tweaked to look much more angry and savage, and he also now wears black and white contacts to finish the look. If they see him at all in the shadows now it will be the supernatural eyes they'll see first.

I always thought Batman who be cooler with a "full mask." Also kind of like it in comics/shows when the cloak drapes around him.

Hey, perhaps some designer could use the "skeleton" of his cloak he takes out when he glides and fold them up to make proper bat wings when the cloak drapes around him.

the belt is understandable, although it's always been gold in the comics. also, i've always thought that leaving his face exposed took away a lot of the fear and demonic quality that batman is striving for, but if you think about it, it works for the character. bruce wayne is going for monster, but he's also human. he will never truly be a monster, he will always be human. that is a central part of the character, and we always need that small little piece of him to remind us that he's human. he's BatMAN not Batmonster. turning him into something like darth vader takes away his humanity. but, it's cool, this would make a great villain for him.
